This is “hands down,” the best presentation I’ve seen on leadership. In fact, I watch it several times throughout the year. It’s that good.
In this presentation, Simon Sinek reveals the often-hidden dynamics that inspire leadership greatness and mutual trust. Biologically-speaking, leaders often get the first pick of food; others the leftovers, but at a cost. People need to feel safe in their workplace cultures. When danger is present, followers expect that their leaders will mitigate the threats, even at their own expense. This is the essence of what it means to be a true servant leader, and not someone simply focused on the level of authority a particular title may give them.
